Q. Welcome to the Scale Yorkshire cohort! Tell us a little bit about your journey so far…
75% of loyalty programmes fail and our mission at White Label Loyalty is to solve this massive problem.
We do this by making the process frictionless and seamless for consumers whilst providing an affordable, digital loyalty platform that allows retailers of any size to run their own branded and tailored loyalty program.
Ultimately, traditional loyalty programmes are broken which results in businesses spending more money on customer acquisition and advertising. We provide businesses with the right tools to identify, retain and reward loyal customers which in turn results in increased profit and customer engagement.
We launched in Leeds in 2015, we now operate in 4 countries, over 4000 merchants are using our platform and we have a 300% year on year growth.
Q. What is your biggest opportunity for scaling in 2018?
Fundamentally our platform targets a huge market that has a loyalty and retention problem which is not currently being solved in an efficient manner.
With our mobile first approach, robust and proven platform and route to market strategy we are really working hard to reinvent loyalty and become the household name in Digital Loyalty transformation.
As part of this ambition we are currently raising growth investment to rapidly scale our operation and sales.
Q. What do you believe will be the biggest challenge facing your growth?
Our product is very flexible and can be customised to fit most businesses loyalty requirements. The challenge for us is to find our sweet spot and ensure that we focus on acquiring the right client that fits our road map, not necessarily the highest paying clients.
Another challenge is to grow the business fast enough to meet with the increasing demand and capitalise on the fact that we don’t currently have much competition. To achieve this whilst attracting the best people to join the team and maintaining the positive and innovative culture we have will be a challenge.
Q. What was it about the programme that particularly appealed to you?
Transitioning from a start-up mentality to scale up mentality and evaluating the right operational and strategic foundation in the business to allow scale. The opportunity to engage directly with PwC’s customer base and to be associated with PwC was also attractive to us.
Q. What’s the most valuable piece of advice you been given so far in relation to scaling?
There were several good workshops around growth which were perfect for where we are on our journey. I particularly found the session about ‘crossing the chasm’ interesting as it’s about selecting the right client that fit your growth path and the consequences of getting that wrong.
Q. If you weren’t an entrepreneur, what do you think you’d be doing?
I would probably work in professional football as that’s my background my original passion.
